Doug Wano

President
Founding Partner

Doug is the President, a founding partner of Wano, Carvalho & Associates and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. Doug has overall responsibility for firms operations, and all aspects of the delivery of services to the firm’s clients.

Most recently, Doug was the Head of Global Operations for Alexander Proudfoot where he also served as a member of the company global management committee.

A senior leader and a highly skilled operations improvement and turnaround expert with over 32 years of experience, Doug works closely with management, investors and boards of directors implementing programs to significantly improve businesses and their operations.

Doug’s experience covers a large number of industries such as Telecommunications, Financial Services, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Aerospace and Defense, Public Utilities, Natural Resources and Food and Beverage, where he managed over 500 assignments in multiple parts of these business including Production/Manufacturing Maintenance and Project Management, Sales and Marketing Improvement Programs, Transportation Planning and Scheduling, Supply Chain Management.

Doug is a graduate of Penn State.

Luiz Carvalho

Chief Executive
Founding Partner

Luiz Carvalho is the Chief Executive and a Founding Partner of Wano, Carvalho & Associates, he is also a member of the firm’s board of directors.

Luiz was previously Chief Executive of Alexander Proudfoot from 2002 to early 2014 where he was the longest serving Chief Executive since the company became listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1987. Luiz also served as the Chairman of the firm’s global management committee and was an executive Director of the Management Consulting Group Board of Directors

A senior leader and highly skilled senior executive with 35 years of experience, Luiz worked closely with boards of directors, investors and senior executives advising and leading business improvement programs worldwide in many industries and sector amongst others Telecommunications, Insurance, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Utilities, Retail and Food and Beverage. With significant experience in Financial Services, he led the relationships with major financial institutions in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Luiz attended Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo, was a member of the WPO (World President’s Organization) and served on the board of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCS)

Raphael Carvalho

Senior Partner

Raphael is a Senior Partner with Wano – Carvalho and Associates and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

Most recently, Raphael was a Managing Director for Alexander Proudfoot where he also served as President for Brazil & Latin America after several years in other leadership positions.

An experienced and highly skilled operations improvement and turnaround expert with over 16 years of experience Raphael works closely with management, investors and boards of directors designing and implementing programs to significantly improve businesses performance.

With significant experience in many industries such as Manufacturing, industrials, Consumer Products, Chemicals and Food and Beverage, Raphael has led complex initiatives aimed at aligning strategic vision through sustainable cross-functional implementation and delivering significant improvements and operational efficiencies throughout different aspects of the value chain.

Raphael is a graduate of Kennesaw State University

Mick Montesi

Senior Vice President

Mick is focused on identifying and developing relationships and partnerships at Wano Carvalho & Associates.

Mick has more than 10 years working with Fortune 500 companies and Private Equity firms in numerous functional areas including relationship management, HR, energy risk management, project management, real estate acquisitions, business development, continuous improvement analysis, and resource utilization.

Mick’s overall approach is to help clients establish and implement action plans to improve overall operations, increase productivity and reduce costs, and to ensure results are sustainable long-term.

Prior to receiving his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Mick worked as Director of Business Development at Harlow Aerostructures, where he led the company’s international expansion and the opening of the firm’s first manufacturing plant in Mexico. Mick was also responsible for managing relationships with key clients and for procuring new business.

Prior to operations consulting, Mick worked as the Director of Business Development for Optimal Facilities Management Solutions, an energy risk management firm that partners with high-energy-use corporations to reduce annual energy expenditures.
